Andhra Pradesh Government introduces scheme for maintenance of digital registers / electronic format instead of manual registers under certain Labour Acts; applicable to all industries

The Labour Factories Boilers and IMS Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh in view of Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) by a Gazette Notification dated 8th December, 2020 has introduced a scheme for maintenance of digital registers / electronic format instead of manual registers under the following Acts (applicable to all industries). This is being done after receiving recommendations from the Department of Industries and Commerce and Promotion, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India regarding maintenance of digital registers instead of manual registers under all Labour Acts to improve Ease of Doing Business in the State.

1. Employee’s Compensation Act, 1923;
2. Trade Unions Act, 1926;
3. Payment of Wages Act, 1936;
4. Industrial Employment (Standing Orders) Act, 1946;
5. Industries Disputes Act, 1947;
6. Minimum Wages Act, 1948;
7. Factories Act, 1948;
8. Working Journalists and other Newspaper Employees and miscellaneous Provisions (Condition of Service ) Act, 1955;
9. Maternity Benefit Act, 1961;
10. Motor Transport Workers Act, 1961;
11. Payment of Bonus Act, 1965;
12. Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970;
13. Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972;
14. Andhra Pradesh Factories and Establishments (National, Festival and other Holidays) Act, 1974;
15. Bonded Labour System (Abolition) Act, 1976;
16. Sales Promotion Employees (Conditions and Service) Act, 1976;
17. Equal Remuneration Act, 1976;
18. Inter-State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1979;
19. Child & Adolescent Labour (Abolition & Regulation) Act, 1986;
20. Andhra Pradesh Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1987;
21. Andhra Pradesh Shops and Establishments Act, 1988;
22. The Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Cess Act, 1996;
23. The Building and Other Construction Workers (RE & CS) Act, 1996;
24. Unorganized Workers Social Security Act, 2008.
