DGCA fixes 31.01.2020 as the last date for voluntary disclosure for drone and drone operators; disclosure to be made online through https://digitalsky.dgca.gov.in

In a notification dated 13th January, 2020, the Ministry of Civil Aviation (“Ministry”) has given a “One Time Opportunity” for voluntary disclosure of drone and drone operators.

Any person with the possession of drones must submit the required information to the Government online through the Digital Sky Portal at https://digitalsky.dgca.gov.in.

Please note that the voluntary disclosure must be completed by 31st January, 2020.

Further, on submission of the Voluntary Disclosure, a Drone Acknowledgment Number (DAN) and an Ownership Acknowledgment Number (OAN) will be issued online to the applicant which will validate the operation of drones.

Ownership of a drone in India without a valid DAN or OAN will invite penal actions.

Any clarification/additional information in this regard can be sought from support-digisky@gov.in.

Background:

The Government has noticed that drone and drone operators are not complying with the Civil Aviation Requirements (CAR). If drones are being operated without due permission, the CAR process is violated.

In light of this, the Government has now issued a strict timeline i.e. 31st January 2020 for voluntary disclosure of drones.
