DoT specifies radio spectrum frequency Bands by means of auction in various Licensed Service Areas; single auction process to be carried out for assigning Spectrum blocks for frequencies

The Department of Telecommunications (“DoT”) has proposed to assign the right to use specified radio spectrum frequencies in the 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2300 MHz and 2500MHz Bands by means of auction in various Licensed Service Areas (“LSA”). The frequency range in the above-mentioned bands are detailed below.

 

The DoT further highlighted that a single auction process will be carried out for assigning Spectrum blocks for the above-mentioned bands, however, the Government reserves the right to use any other means to assign the spectrum as it may deem fit without assigning any reason. Furthermore, interested parties may download a copy of this document and any subsequent amendments to it from the DoT website i.e.,www.dot.gov.in
