EPFO introduces new e-initiatives to provide better services and timely information to stakeholders

In a recent PIB release dated 25th April, 2018, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (“EPFO”) has announced the introduction of new e-initiatives to provide services and timely information to all its stakeholders.

The EPFO has decided to publish age-band wise estimate of all new subscribers declared by their respective employers. The new employees have been categorized in 6 different age groups i.e. less than 18, 18-21, 22-25, 26-28, 29-35 and above 35 with an objective to help the planners to plan more effective policies for employees keeping in mind the age group.

The EPFO has implemented the process of sending updates through SMS regarding the monthly contribution of the employees in their respective accounts. It has now made credit information available through e-passbook and UMANG mobile App as well as through missed call service.

Intimations with regard to non – deposit of contributions by way of SMS/email has been decided to be sent to the members who have registered their mobile number against their respective Universal Account Number.
