Further amendment in export policy of PPE Kits allowing import of 50 Lakh units of PPE Medical Coveralls for COVID-19 every month

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) in a Notification dated 20th July, 2020 has further amended the Export Policy of Personal Protective Equipment  (“PPE”) Medical Coveralls for COVID -19.

Background :
With a Notification dated 29th June, 2020  export of all PPE Medical Coveralls for COVID-19 was restricted. A monthly export quota of 50 Lakh PPE Medical Coveralls for COVID-19 units had been fixed for issuance of export policies to the eligible applicants to export PPE Medical Coveralls for COVID-19 as per criteria separately issued in a Trade Notice on 29th June, 2020.

Now, with the 20th July, 2020 Notification DGFT has revised the export criteria –
1. Export of only 50 Lakh units of PPE Medical Coveralls for COVID -19 will be allowed every month.
2. Exporters must apply through DGFT’s ECOM system for Export authorisation.
