Gujarat’s CM exempts units registered under the Shops and Establishment Act from renewing the license; S&Es can continue the permission by paying just a One-Time Fee

In a recent alert published in the Gujarat Information Bureau dated 2nd January, 2019, the Chief Minister of Gujarat has expressed important decisions to simply Ease of Doing Business.

With a view to Ease of Doing Business, the Chief Minister has exempted units registered under the shops and establishment act in the State from renewing the license.

Instead, now, shops and establishments can continue the permission by paying just a one-time fee.

The one-time fees are for different units is stipulated as follows:

Commercial units having more than 10 employees- Rs. 500

Commercial units having less than 10 employees-   Rs. 250

Shops having more than 10 employees-  Rs. 500

Shops having less than 10 employees-  Rs. 250

Residential hotels-  Rs. 2500

Restaurant and other food shops-  Rs. 1000

Cinema’s and public entertainments places- Rs. 5000

Those who do not have any employee in the Establishment –  Rs. 250

This information is being shared basis a release in the Gujarat Information Bureau but has not been notified by the State Government in any notification in this regard. We will keep you posted of any developments around this / once this is published in the Gazette
