In light of the outbreak of the Covid pandemic in the State of Gujarat, in order to provide effective management of disaster, the Gujarat Government has declared that vehicles permitted for carrying Oxygen for medical purposes will be treated on par with the ambulances for carrying oxygen for a period of one year, from 12th October, 2020 i.e. the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, during the COVID – 19 disaster.
The Government has informed that:
i. such vehicles, carrying oxygen for medical purposes, will be treated as the vehicles on emergency and disaster management duties;
ii. such vehicles will be allowed to:
a. use multi-coloured red, blue and white light
b. such sound signals, as used on ambulance or vehicles used for fire fighting or salvage purposes or on vehicles used by police or operators of construction equipment vehicles or officers of the Motor Vehicles Department, and approved by or operators of construction equipment vehicles or officers of the Motor Vehicles Department
