Ministry of Consumer Affairs issues letter to Chief Secretaries and Administrators regarding extension of necessary permissions to distilleries / other units engaged in manufacture of hand sanitizers till 31st December, 2021

With a view to ensure availability of hand sanitizer at a reasonable price in the domestic market, the Joint Secretary (Sugar & Admn.) of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, has in a letter addressed to the Chief Secretaries of the States and Administrators of Union Territories, requested to issue directions to Drug Controllers and Competent Authority in the respective States/ UTs to extend necessary permissions granted to distilleries / other units engaged in manufacture of hand sanitizers till 31st December, 2021.
