Mizoram Govt. does away with the requirement to conduct inspections before registering business enterprises / establishments under the Mizoram Shops and Establishments Rules, 2011

In line with the Business Reform Action points, 2019 recommended by the Government of India, the Labour, Employment, Skill Development and Enterprise Department, Mizoram (“Department”), has in a Notification dated 17th January, 2019 eliminated the requirement of inspections prior to registration of business enterprise / establishments under the Mizoram Shops and Establishments Rules, 2011 (“Rules”).

The Department has clarified that such inspection would not be carried out by the inspectors unless any violation of the provisions of applicable labour laws has been detected or lodged against the establishment.

The Notification also informs that the final certificate of registration will be granted to the applicant within the same day of the application, provided the application is complete in all respects.
