Tripura Govt. rolls out the Draft Tripura Ease of Compliance to Maintain Registers under various Labour Laws Rules, 2019; Employers will soon be allowed to maintain combined registers under specified labour enactments

The Labour Department, Government of Tripura, has taken an initiate to roll out the Draft Tripura Ease of Compliance to Maintain Registers under various Labour Laws Rules, 2019 (“Draft Rules”), In furtherance of Ease of Doing Business initiative.

Objective:

The intent of the legislature is to provide ease of compliance.

The Draft Rules provide for a combined register which can be maintained electronically under the following labour laws.

  1. Building and Other Construction Workers’ (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1996
  1. Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970
  1. Interstate Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act 1979
  1. Minimum Wages Act, 1948

Through the Draft Rules, the information will be easily accessible to public through electronic means, by increasing transparency.

What is proposed?

Instead to maintaining multiple registers under the above laws, the Draft Rules, has introduced the following registers:

  1. Form A- Format of Employee Register
  1. Form B- Format of Wage Register
  1. Form C- Format of Loan / Recoveries.
  1. Form D- Format of Attendance Register
