District Magistrates to ensure constitution of Internal Complaints Committees and registration of private organizations in the SHE-Box portal in Karnataka

With a view to prevent and address sexual harassment of women in the workplace and to verify and ensure that an Internal Complaints Committee has been constituted in all private organisations having more than 10 employees, the Government of Karnataka (“Government”) has directed district magistrates to compulsorily constitute Internal Complaints Committees.

Further, they are requested to follow up with the institutions and complete it within 1 month and submit a comprehensive report of the action taken to the Government.

Background:

There are approx. 81,000 organisations which have 10 or more employees out of which 26,000 organisations have formed an internal grievance committee and registered its details on the SHE Box portal.

The District Magistrates, who are the District Nodal Officers of their districts, are requested to compulsorily constitute Internal Complaints Committees in the pending 55,000 institutions and to record its details in the SHE-Box portal.
