Ministry of Consumer Affairs withdraws the Direct Selling Guidelines, having regard to the publication of the Consumer Protection (Direct Selling) Rules, 2021

The Department of Consumer Affairs have withdrawn the Direct Selling Guidelines, 2016, having regard to the publication of the Consumer Protection (Direct Selling) Rules, 2021. Earlier, the Consumer Protection (Direct Selling) Rules, 2021 were notified.
The Rules apply to the following:
- All goods and services brought or sold through direct selling;
- All models of direct selling;
- All direct selling entities offering goods and services to consumers in India;
- Any direct selling entity which is not established in India but offers goods or services to consumers in India.
