Paid holiday declared in establishments and factories falling within the Legislative Assembly Constituency of Andhra Pradesh on 13th May, 2024 on account of elections

In preparation for the upcoming elections of the Legislative Assembly of Andhra Pradesh, the General Administration Department, Andhra Pradesh, has issued an Order to facilitate electors’ exercise of their franchise.

The Order directs the Labour, Employment Training & Factories Department and the Commissioner of Labour, Andhra Pradesh, to declare paid holidays on 13-05-2024 in establishments and factories falling within the Legislative Assembly Constituency of Andhra Pradesh. This directive applies if there is no existing holiday under the Andhra Pradesh Factories and Establishment Act, 1974, Andhra Pradesh Shops and Establishment Act, 1988, and Representation of the People Act, 1951.

It is important to note that for industrial undertakings or establishments operating on a shift basis, the holiday must only be declared for the shifts during which the poll is scheduled to be conducted, i.e., from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm.
