Timeline for filing annual returns by PIBOs and PWPs under the Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016 for FY 2024-25 stands extended till 31st July, 2025

The Central Pollution Control Board extends the timeline for filing of annual returns by Producers, Importers and Brand Owners (“PIBOs”) and Plastic Waste Processors (“PWPs”) under the Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016 for FY 2024-25 from 30th June, 2025 to 31st July, 2025.

The extension has been done as a special case, for removal of difficulties and facilitating filing of annual returns by PIBOs and PWPs, while ensuring that environmentally sound management of plastic packaging waste is done by PIBOS and PWPs as per EPR Guidelines, thus reducing pollution caused by littered and un-managed plastic packaging waste.
