Timelines extended for filing annual returns for FY 2025-26 by PWPs till 31st October 2026 and PIBOs till 31st December 2026 under the Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016

The Central Pollution Control Board (“CPCB”) extends the timeline for filing of annual returns under the Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016 for FY 2025-26 by Plastic Waste Processors (“PWPs”) and Producers, Importers and Brand Owners (“PIBOs”) from 30^th June, 2026 to 31^st October, 2026 and 31^st December 2026 respectively.

The extension has been done as a special case, for removal of difficulties and facilitating filing of annual returns by PIBOs and PWPs, while ensuring that environmentally sound management of plastic packaging waste is done by PIBOS and PWPs as per EPR Guidelines, thus reducing pollution caused by littered and un-managed plastic packaging waste.

The CPCB will address the issues related to EPR portal on priority during extended period as a part of removal of difficulties.
