Andhra Pradesh notifies Social Security (Andhra Pradesh) Rules, 2026, effective from July 7, 2026

The Andhra Pradesh Government has notified and brought Code on Social Security (Andhra Pradesh) Rules, 2026 into effect from 7th July 2026. It extends to whole of the State of Andhra Pradesh.
Key Highlights:
- The Rules prescribe the constitution, tenure and functioning of the Andhra Pradesh Unorganised Workers Social Security Board and the Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, including provisions relating to membership, meetings and administration.
- The Rules provides the manner of application for gratuity via Form II by the employee and mandates employers to send notice for payment of gratuity if the gratuity claim is found admissible and a seperate notice in case claim for gratuity is not found admissible.
- An Employees’ State Insurance Society is established in the State, comprising a governing body, executive committee and secretariat to manage and administer healthcare and insurance services under the Employees’ State Insurance framework.
- Every establishment where fifty or more employees are ordinarily employed, there must be provided and maintained a creche for the use of children under the age of six years of such employees.
- The employer in every establishment in public sector in that State or area shall, before filling up any vacancy in any employment in that establishment, report that vacancy or cause to be reported to such career centre as may be specified by notification, made by the appropriate Government.
- The Rule provides for the Form and manner for maintenance of records and registers etc under Chapter VI of the Rules
- The Rule prescribes that the cess levied for the purposes of social security and welfare of building workers shall be paid by an employer, within thirty days of the completion of the construction project or within thirty days of the date on which assessment of cess payable is finished, whichever is earlier.
