CAQM mandates Installation of PTZ Cameras at Industries by 31.10.2026

The Commission for Air Quality Management in NCR and Adjoining Areas (“CAQM”) has issued an order mandating expansion of Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) cameras at industries in the National Capital Region (NCR) to ensure comprehensive real-time monitoring of fuel consumption and compliance with its directions.
Key Highlights:
- Due to the persistent use of unapproved fuels, the CAQM is of the opinion that real-time monitoring of fuerl consumption by industries is necessary. Thus, industries shall also install PTZ cameras as per the following SOP by 31.10.2026:
- Location of Cameras:
- Cameras will be installed to capture all fuel storage areas.
- Cameras will be installed to capture all fuel charging points.
- ln case of use of gas-based fuel the gauge/ meter of the gas is to be captured by the camera.
- Real Time Streaming:
- Real time streaming of video feeds must be made available to the servers of CPCB and respective SPCBs/ DPCC.
- Power Source:
- All industries must also ensure that these cameras and the connectivity have adequate power backup.
- Location of Cameras:
- CPCB and SPCBs/ DPCC will develop portals and other infrastructure to capture the real-time streaming of video feeds.
- Status in the above context will be submitted to the CAQM by SPCBs/ DPCC on 01.11.2026
