Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has issued Circular No. 9/2023- Central Tax to extend the due date for furnishing of certain Tax deducted at source (TDS) and Tax collected at source (TCS) statements.
Key points of the Circular are:
a. TDS statement for quarter ending 30th June, 2023 of F.Y 2023-24, required to be furnished in Form No. 26Q or Form No. 27Q, on or before 31st July, 2023 has been extended till 30th September, 2023. Form 26Q is required to be filed in respect of payment made to residents other than salary and Form 27Q is required to be filed in respect of payment made non-resident not being a company.
b. TCS statement for the first quarter of the financial year 2023-24, required to be furnished in Form No. 27EQ, on or before 15th July, 2023 has been extended till 30th September, 2023.
