EPFO extends the time till 11th July,2023 for submitting applications for validation of joint options from employees who have retired before 1st September and had exercised joint options before their retirement
Ministry of Labour and Employment has extended the time till 11th July 2023 for submitting applications for validation of joint options from employees who have retired before 1st September 2014 and had exercised joint options before their retirement.
Many representations have been received from Employers & Employers’ Associations wherein requests have been made to extend time period for uploading wage details of applicant pensioners / members. The request has been considered and the employers are being given further period of three months to submit wage details etc. online latest by 30th September 2023.
Supreme Court had held that employees who have retired before 1st September 2014 and had exercised option prior to their retirement will be eligible for pension on higher wages. Online facility for submitting applications for validation of joint options to the employees who retired before 01.09.2014 and had exercised joint options before their retirement had been previously provided on the Employees Provident Fund Organization (“EPFO”) website till 3rd March 2023.
