FBOs directed to affix rectifiable labelling information on imported food consignments w.r.t per serve percentage contribution to Recommended Dietary Allowance along with Date of Expiry and Best Before date
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has directed FBOs importing food to affix a rectifiable labelling information of imported food consignment (single non-detachable sticker / other non-detachable method next to the principal display panel without altering the original label information), with regards to per serve percentage contribution to recommended dietary allowance and date of expiry along with best before date.
The following information may be rectified:
1. Per serve percentage (%) contribution to Recommended Dietary Allowance
2. Date of Expiry along with the Best Before date.
However, the rectification may be carried out at customs bound warehouse before inspection or re-inspection by an Authorized Officer or his representative by use of above-mentioned single non-detachable sticker next to the principal display panel.
