The Jharkhand Government has prohibited the manufacture, import, stocking, distribution sale and use of plastic carry bags of less than 75 microns thickness in Nagar Panchayat, Shri Banshidhar Nagar area.
The Government advised the use of jute paper or cloth bags instead of plastic. If shopkeepers have plastic bag, then they should be deposited in the Nagar Panchayat, Shri Banshidhar Nagar Office.
Upon manufacturing, importing, stocking, distributing, selling or using plastic carry bags, legal punishment along with fines under relevant sections of the Plastic Waste Management Rules and Municipal Acts against the user, shopkeeper and other business class will be processed.
