With a view to amend the Maharashtra Shops and Establishments (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2018 (“Rules”), the Industries, Energy and Labour Department of Maharashtra has notified the Maharashtra Shops and Establishments (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) (Amendment) Rules, 2023 (“Amendment”).
Pursuant to the Amendment, an employer is required to display the Notice of the shift schedule, along with weekly holiday showing the names and designation of all persons working in that shift as prescribed in Form N of the Rules either on the website or at a conspicuous place of the premises of the establishment on the notice board.
Previously, an employer was required to display the Notice (Form N) on both the website and at a conspicuous place of the premises of the establishment on the notice board.
