MCA omits “Nidhi” from the list of undesirable words to name a company
The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (“MCA”) has issued a notification on Companies (Incorporation) Amendment Rules, 2024 (“Amendment Rules, 2024”) to amend the Companies (Incorporation) Rules, 2014 (“Principal Rules”).
Amendment Rules, 2024 has omitted the word “Nidhi” from the list of undesirable words to name a company. Further, the following provision has also been done away with-
The proposed name of a Nidhi company under the Act does not have the last words “Nidhi Limited” as a part of its name.
