The Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change (“Ministry”) has notified the Plastic Waste Management (Second Amendment) Rules, 2023 (“Amendment”) to further amend the Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016 (“Principal Rules”). With the amendment coming into force immediately, the definition of ‘carry bags’ and ‘producer’ and the requirements with regard to marking and labelling stand amended among other changes.
