Further to the Update reported earlier (please refer to the e-mail in trail), Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change (“Authority”) has extended the public consultation period for the draft Ecomark Certification Rules, 2023 (“Draft Rules”) till 10th December 2023. The Draft Rules are aimed at establishing a thorough framework for creating and executing the Ecomark certification scheme. This scheme involves labelling products with reduced adverse environmental impacts and encourages consumers to choose such products. This, in turn, supports the principles of ‘LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment)’ while assisting manufacturers in transitioning to the production of Ecomark-certified products with the end-goal of promoting sustainability and a circular economy.
