Timeline for implementing amendments to Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011 (pertaining to declarations on packages) extended till 1st December, 2022

The Department of Consumer Affairs has extended the timeline for implementing the provisions of Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Amendment Rules, 2022 (please refer to summary in trailing e-mail) from 1st October, 2022 to 1st December, 2022.

Note: In accordance with the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011, no charges may be brought up against the manufacturer or packer or importer of pre-packaged commodities for making declaration w.e.f., 1st April, 2022.
