The Ministry of Power issues draft of Electricity (Late Payment Surcharge and related matters) Rules, 2021; comments and suggestions are invited by 10th January, 2022

The Ministry of Power, through a notification dated 20th December, 2021, issues draft of Electricity (Late Payment Surcharge and related matters) Rules, 2021.

 

Comments and suggestions are invited by 10th January, 2022. The same can be mailed at debranjan.chattpoadhyay@nic.in

 

The draft Electricity (Late Payment Surcharge and related matters) Rules, 2021 proposes to repeal the Electricity (Late Payment Surcharge) Rules, 2021, notified on 22nd February, 2021.

 

Please note that as per the draft “Regulating Entity” means the generating company or the electricity trading licensee or the transmission licensee, as the case may be, which notifies the Regional Load Dispatch Centre or the State Load Dispatch Centre, to regulate the power supply of the defaulting entity.
