West Bengal Govt. extends Covd-19 induced restrictions till 15th February 2022; private offices and establishments permitted to function with 75% employee strength

In view of the current situation of Covid-19 pandemic, the Government of West Bengal has extended the Covid-19 restrictions which are already in force (summarized in the trail mail) till 15th February 2022. Further, the Government has notified that following shall come into effect from 1st February, 2022:

1. All offices and establishments shall be allowed to operate with 75% of the total employee strength; employers and owners of establishments, offices, workplaces required to provide all COVID safety measures including regular sanitization of work places;

2. Night Curfew restrictions shall now be imposed from 11:00 pm to 5:00 am on a daily basis throughout the State;

3. Metro and local trains shall operate with 75% of the total seating capacity;

4. Restaurants, bars, cinema halls, salons, gyms, zoos, museums, parks and tourist places, indoor and outdoor sports activities shall be allowed to function with 75% strength at a time;

5. Educational Institutions such as schools (Classes VIII to XII), Colleges, Universities, technical colleges, etc. shall open from 3rd February 2022;

(Note: Covid Appropriate Behaviour including wearing of masks, maintenance of social distancing and health & hygiene protocol must be strictly adhered to and followed at all times).

Violation of the above-mentioned measures will be liable to be proceeded against as per the applicable provisions of the Disaster Management Act and the Indian Penal Code.
