Tamil Nadu Govt. eases Covid-19 curbs; restrictions on public gathering etc. to continue till 2nd March, 2022

With a view to curb the spread of COVID-19, the Disaster Management Department of Tamil Nadu has extended some of the COVID-19 restrictions in the State till 2nd March 2022.
The following restrictions will continue:
• The existing restrictions on public gatherings in Social, Cultural and Political congregation;
• Marriage ceremonies and funeral rites shall be permitted with not more than 200 and 100 persons, respectively.
All other restrictions imposed earlier shall cease to remain in force, subject to the condition that the Covid-19 norms are adhere to.
Any person violating the effective measures will be liable to be proceeded against as per the provisions of the Disaster Management Act, the Indian Penal Code and other applicable legal provisions.
