FSSAI issues direction to ensure that no blending of mustard oil with other edible oils is carried out by an FBO; requires submission of first action taken report by 15th May, 2022

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, vide Notification dated 8th March, 2021, prohibited the blending of Mustard Oil for the production of Multi Sourced Edible Oil (MSEO).
In order to ensure that no such blending of mustard oil is being carried out by a Food Business Operator, FSSAI has further directed to take appropriate actions such as carrying out surveillance and enforcement drives periodically, both at manufacturing and market levels in the respective areas of jurisdiction.
The action taken reports are required to be shared at regular intervals with the FSSAI office through e-mail at (enforcement1@fssai.gov.in) and the first report regarding such must be submitted by 15th May, 2022.
