Public comments invited on the draft Maharashtra Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Rules, 2022 by 11th June, 2022

The Home Department of Maharashtra (“Department”) has proposed the Draft Maharashtra Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Rules, 2022 (“Draft Amendment”) with a view to further amend the Maharashtra Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989 (“Principal Rules”).
Objections and suggestions, if any, may be addressed to the Transport Commissioner, Maharashtra State 5th Floor Fountain Telephone Bhavan-2, Mahatma Gandhi Marg, Fort, Mumbai 400 001. Such objections and suggestions may be considered if shared by 11th June, 2022.
The proposed amendments are tabulated below for your ease of reference –

(4) A goods vehicle covered by national permit issued by any Regional Transport Authority or State Transport Authority other than in the State of Maharashtra shall not pick up or set down goods between two points in the State of Maharashtra

Now, a goods vehicle covered by national permit issued by any Regional Transport Authority or State Transport Authority other than in the State of Maharashtra, will not be allowed to pick up or set down any goods in the State of Maharashtra. |
