Punjab PCB launches single window online portal for obtaining CTE / CTO under Air and Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act/s and Authorization under Hazardous Waste Management Rules

With a view towards Ease of Doing Business (EODB), the Punjab PCB has created a Single window online portal where deemed clearance will be granted w.r.t the following clearances after the stipulated timeline to issue the clearances are over:

a) Consent to Establish (NOC) under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981
b) Consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974
c) Consent to operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981
d) Authorization under Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016.

Upon successful submission of complete application through online system, a system generated auto ‘Acknowledgement cum deemed Certificate’ will be issued to the applicant or the project proponent through the Online system. The ‘Acknowledgement cum deemed Certificate’ shall be valid for a period of one year. Such applications shall be processed by the concerned officer. The validity of such consent or authorization can be further extended as per the policy of the Board if the concerned officer thinks fit. Such facility shall be available to the Project Proponent or the Entrepreneur with immediate effect and shall be applicable only to small scale units in the first instance.

In case of non-compliance/violations/pending proceedings and Show Cause Notice issued within the defined timelines, the case will be processed as per the normal procedure and shall not be eligible for deemed clearances.
