Uttar Pradesh Govt. issues Draft Uttar Pradesh Dookan Aur Vanijya Adhishthan (Navam Sanshodhan) Niyamawali, 2022; owners of shops or commercial establishment to apply for registration by paying one time registration fees

With a view to amend the Uttar Pradesh Dookan Aur Vanijiya Adhisthan Niyamawali, 1963, the Government of Uttar Pradesh has issued the Draft Uttar Pradesh Dookan Aur Vanijya Adhishthan (Navam Sanshodhan) Niyamawali, 2022 (“Draft Amendment Rules”).
The Draft Amendment Rules proposes the following changes:
1. The Registration fees to be paid per year by the shops and establishments will be substituted by a one-time registration fee enlisted in Table PART-I and PART-II.
2. The provisions pertaining to Procedure for the registration and renewal of shops or commercial establishments will be substituted by a one-time process for registration of the shops and establishments. The shops and commercial establishments which are run on yearly contract basis shall apply for licence for that year and shall pay 1/15th of the prescribed fee. The shops and commercial establishments which are already registered for 5 years shall be renewed once by paying prescribed fee.
3. The provisions pertaining to Validity of registration certificate granted under section 4-B or renewed under section 4-C are to be omitted.
4. The provision pertaining to renewal of registration Certificate is to be omitted.
5. The late fee on application for registration of a shop or commercial establishment will be amended to 1% of the fee of registration per month or part of it, in addition to the prescribed fee.
