Rajasthan PCB mandates including specific condition that no SUP will be used in the industry/ unit premises while granting Consent to Operate/Authorization to unit/activities/mines etc
The Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board (“RSPCB”) has directed all Group In-charges and Regional Officers to mandatorily incorporate the specific condition “That no Single Use Plastic (SUP) item, which is banned vide Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MOEF&CC), Government of India Notification dated 12.08.2021 shall be used in the industry/unit premises” while granting Consent to Operate/ Authorisation to units / activities/ mines etc:
Background:
The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has banned identified SUP items with effect from 1st July, 2022. RSPCB has been taking necessary action for closure of banned SUP manufacturing units. RSPCB has also requested Industries Department to issue appropriate directions to the concerned not to use banned SUP items in the industrial area/ premises.
