Government of Karnataka issues press note on last date for payment of contribution under the Karnataka Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1965
The Labour Department, Government of Karnataka has informed that the last date for payment of contribution under the Karnataka Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1965 is 15th January, 2023 for calendar year 2022.
Please note, any delay in payment of contribution will attract penal interest at the rate of 12% for the first 3 months and after 3 months, 18% on the amount due, and inspections by the Welfare Commissioner/
Labour Department Officers to initiate legal proceedings for non-payment of contribution.
Background:
Under the provisions of the Karnataka Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1965, every factory/establishment has to pay contribution of Rs. 20/- from each employee and Rs.40/- from employers for each employee through online remittance.
