NSE advises listed companies not to disclose Aadhar related information in any public document submitted to the exchange

The National Stock Exchange of India (“NSE”) has advised all listed entities and issuers proposing to list their securities with the Exchange to not disclose the Aadhar number or any Aadhar related information in any announcements, disclosures or any public document made or submitted to NSE.

Please further note that :-

I. The listed entities, in their announcements specifically in the cases of newspaper publications, should only disclose the newspaper clipping related to itself and should abstain from submitting the entire page of the newspaper containing other details including Aadhar information.

II. Where Aadhar number/ Aadhar information of the promoters/others are required to be disclosed under the applicable SEBI regulations viz. SEBI (Issue of Capital and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2018, SEBI (Issue and Listing of Non-Convertible Securities) Regulations, 2021 etc., the entities/issuers proposing to list any of their securities should provide the same to the NSE separately and should not disclose it in the draft offer document/offer document/any other public document.

This is in accordance with the provisions of the Aadhar Act, 2016 which prohibits public disclosure of Aadhaar number or demographic information or photograph collected or created
under the Aadhaar Act, except for the purpose specified in the said Act.
