EPFO extends the time till 3rd May, 2023 for submitting applications for validation of joint options from employees who have retired before 1st September and had exercised joint options before their retirement

The Ministry of Labour and Employment has extended the time till 3^rd May, 2023 for submitting applications for validation of joint options from employees who have retired before 1^st September 2014 and had exercised joint options before their retirement.

Supreme Court had held that employees who have retired before 1st September 2014 and had exercised option prior to their retirement will be eligible for pension on higher wages. Online facility for submitting applications for validation of joint options to the employees who retired before 01.09.2014 and had exercised joint options before their retirement had been previously provided on the Employees Provident Fund Organization (“EPFO”) website till 3^rd March 2023.
