CPCB launches portal for Ash Management and issues FAQs on the same for ease of reference

The Central Pollution Control Board has launched a portal for Ash Management and Utilisation and the portal is available at (https://coalash.cpcb.gov.in/).
In addition to the portal, the CPCB has also issued Frequently Asked Questions (“FAQs”) on the Ash Management Web Application for reference which is made available on the portal and addresses the following questions:
- Why Ash Management Web Application has been developed and why I have to feed the data in this application?
- What are the information that needs to be provided in the Web Application and what is the last date for doing the same?
- What are the steps that need to be followed while entering data on the portal?
- When the data entered for a particular month would get locked and whether such data can be modified?
- How to provide data on the portal if more than 100% ash is utilized during the month?
Background: The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change vide previous notifications and its amendments (summarized in the e-mails below) prescribed 100% ash utilisation and development of a web portal for the same was mentioned in the notification as one of the key aspects for monitoring the compliance.
