Central Government notifies intervals during daily working hours for establishments and mines under OSH and WCC, 2020; effective immediately

The Central Government (“Government”) notifies intervals during daily working hours for establishments and mines under the Occupational Safety Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020 (“Code”). This is effective immediately.
Key Highlights:
- The workers in any establishment or class of establishment cannot be required or allowed to work continuously for more than 5 hours without an interval of at least 30 minutes.
- The persons employed below ground in a mine will not be allowed to work for not more than 8 hours for each shift in a day.
