With a view to amend the Maharashtra Shops and Establishments (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2018 (“Rules”), the Industries, Energy and Labour Department has proposed the Draft Maharashtra Shops and Establishments (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) (Second Amendment) Rules, 2023 (“Draft Rules”).
The Draft Rules propose to include a Copy of the insurance certificate of the establishment as a document which needs to be submitted while filing:
- Form A (Application for Registration)
- Form D (Application for Renewal of Registration)
- Form F (Intimation of commencement of business by employer employing less than 10 workers)
- Form R (Annual Return)
Accordingly, modifications to the Forms mentioned above and the Schedule appended to the Rules have been proposed.
Objections/Suggestions in this regard must be addressed to the Commissioner of Labour, Maharashtra State, Kamgar Bhavan, ‘E’ Block, C-20, Bandra-Kurla Complex, Bandra East, Mumbai- 400051 by post or by e-mail at (mahalabourcommr@gmail.com) within 45 days from the date of notification i.e., by 16th September, 2023.
