Commission for Air Quality Management in National Capital Region decides to invoke all actions under Stage I of the GRAP in NCR Region

The Commission for Air Quality Management in National Capital Region (“CAQMS”) has decided to revoke all actions under Stage- II of the GRAP with immediate effect. Actions as envisaged under Stage I of the GRAP in the NCR Region will remain invoked.
All implementing agencies should keep strict vigil and especially intensify following measures as envisaged under Stage-l :
1. Stop Construction & Demolition (“C&D”) activities in respect of such projects with plot size equal to or more than 500 sqm which have still not registered on the ‘web portal’ of the respective state /GNCTD, for remote monitoring ;
2. Ensure that C&D materials & waste are properly contained, covered, and stored within the premises, and C&D waste is recycled at the processing facility;
3. Enforce guidelines for use of anti-smog guns at construction sites;
4. Stringently enforce prohibition on open burning of biomass and municipal solid waste. Impose heavy fine upon violation;
5. Ensure strict penal/ legal action against non-compliant and illegal industrial units;
6. Ensure that only approved fuel is used by industries and stringent action is taken against violations;
7. Stringently enforce all pollution control regulations in brick kilns and Industries;
8. Stringently enforce emission norms in thermal power plants and strict actions be taken against non-compliance;
9. Ensure regular lifting and proper disposal of industrial waste from industrial and non-development areas;
10. Ensure that diesel generator sets are not used as regular source of power supply;
11. Encourage offices to start unified commute for employs to reduce traffic on road;
