CPCB issues directions to Recyclers and Producers under E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022 to facilitate generation of EPR Certificates

The Central Pollution Control Board has issued a notice and directed the Recyclers and Producers as defined under the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022 to do the following:
- Recyclers are required to maintain records of sales and purchase of different recovered materials (end product) and E-Waste through invoices linked to GST respectively for generation of Extended Producers Responsibility (“EPR”) Certificate;
- The Recyclers are required to have E-Invoices through GST Portal for sale/purchase of different recovered materials (End Product) and E-Waste respectively;
- Producers must accept sales invoices linked to GST for end products from E-Waste Recyclers as a proof of recycling.
Background: Under the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022, recyclers are required to generate EPR Certificate through EPR Portal.
