ESIC relaxes eligibility conditions under the ‘ESIC COVID-19 Relief Scheme’; effective since 24th March 2022

Employees State Insurance Corporation has relaxed the eligibility condition to be covered under the ESIC Covid-19 Relief Scheme, effective since 24^th March, 2022.

Now, the eligibility under the Scheme is as follows:

• The deceased Insured Person must have been in employment on the date of diagnosis of COVID-19 disease;
• Contributions for at least 35 days should have been paid or payable in respect of him / her, during a period of maximum one year immediately preceding the diagnosis of COVID-19 disease resulting in death.
