The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (“FSSAI”) has extended the last date for online submission of Annual Returns by the Food Business Operators (“FBOs”) through the FoSCoS portal as per provisions of the Food Safety and Standards (Licensing and Registration of Food Businesses) Regulation, 2011 for the Financial Year 2021-2022 till 30th June, 2022.
It is further clarified that submission of Annual Returns physically or through e-mail will not be considered.
Background: FSSAI vide notification dated 29th April, 2022, replaced the practice of submitting quarterly returns by Manufacturer- Exporters and directed them to submit Annual returns for the food business activities conducted by them in the F.Y. 2021-2022 by 31st May, 2022, online through the FoSCoS portal .
