FSSAI issues directions w.r.t. additives, proteins and enzymes under the Food Safety and Standards (Nutra) Regulations, 2022
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India in an earlier notification dated 29th March, 2022 drafted a new framework to be called the FSS (Health Supplements, Nutraceuticals, Food for Special Dietary Use, Food for Special Medical Purpose and Prebiotic and Probiotic Food), Regulations, 2022 which is in supersession of the FSS (Health Supplements, Nutraceuticals, Food for Special Dietary Use, Food for Special Medical Purpose, Functional Food and Novel Food) Regulations, 2016 and any other amendment made thereunder.
Now, in continuation to that, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India has further issued directions with regard to enzymes, proteins and additives for the operationalization of the FSS (Health Supplements, Nutraceuticals, Food for Special Dietary Use, Food for Special Medical Purpose and Prebiotic and Probiotic Food), Regulations, 2022.
