FSSAI re-operationalizes the Food Safety and Standards (Licensing and Registration of Food Business) Amendment Regulations, 2021; FBOs required to ensure compliance with these regulations

In continuation to what we reported earlier (please refer to the trailing e-mails for details), the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India has re-operationalized the Food Safety and Standards (Licensing and Registration of Food Business) Amendment Regulations, 2021 to ensure food safety and fair practice in food business operations.
All the Food Business Operators are required to follow the regulations, though the enforcement of the same will commence only after the final regulations are notified by way of a Gazette Notification. However, the amendment of the sub-regulation 2.1.9. (dealing with Modifications, Expansion or Changes in premise(s) after grant of license or registration) will qualify as an exception in this case since it has already gained effect.
Further it has been stated that an improvement Notice under the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, if required can be issued to the Food Business Operators to ensure compliance with the requirements specified under the regulations.
A Copy of the Notification has been linked below for your ease of reference.
