Health Ministry notifies the Drugs (3rd Amendment) Rules, 2022; introduces new colour ‘Allura Red’ to list of colours permitted to be used in drugs

In continuation to what we reported earlier (please refer to trailing e-mail), the Health Ministry has issued the Drugs (3rd Amendment) Rules, 2022 which amends the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945 further. With the present amendment gaining effect, the Health Ministry has introduced a new colour ‘Allura Red’ to the list of colours permitted to be used in drugs.
The amended portion is tabulated below for your ease of reference-
