Karnataka Fire Force (Amendment) Ordinance, 2023 inserting NOC provision for high rise buildings gains effect from 27th March, 2023

In continuation to what has been reported by us earlier (please refer to the trail mail), the Government of Karnataka has issued a Gazette Notification to inform that the Karnataka Fire Force (Amendment) Ordinance is deemed to have gained effect on 27th March, 2023.

As we have already reported, this Amendment Ordinance inserts a new sub-section under Section 13 of the Karnataka Fire Force Act, 1964 which states that any person proposing to construct a high-rise building has to obtain a ‘No Objection Certificate’ from the Karnataka State Fire and Emergency Services Department.

Please note that the Notification is in Vernacular and we have translated it to the best of our understanding. The official notification is not yet up on the Government Website, once the official document is available, we will update in case there is a requirement.
