Karnataka Government extends the last date of payment of contribution under the Karnataka Labour Welfare Fund Act to 31st January, 2022 due to increasing cases of COVID 19 and omicron virus
The Government of Karnataka has extended the last date of payment of contribution from 15th January, 2022 to 31st January, 2022 due to increasing cases of COVID 19 and omicron virus.
Delay in payment of contribution will attract penal interest at the rate of 12% for the first 3 months and after 3 months 18% on the amount due and inspections by the Welfare Commissioner.
Background:
It is mandatory for factories, plantations, workshops, motor, omnibus service, shops and commercial establishments to pay compulsory contributions under the provisions of the Karnataka Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1965.
In light of this, the present Order is issued.
