Ministry of Consumer Affairs extends prescribed stock limits for all Edible oils and Oilseeds for all States and Union Territories till 31st December, 2022

The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution has issued the Removal of Licensing Requirements, Stock Limits and Movement Restrictions on Specified Foodstuffs (Second Amendment) Order, 2022 to further amend the Order dated 3rd February 2022 (summarized in the trail mail) and extend the stock limits for all Edible Oils and Oilseeds put together for a period up to 31st December 2022 for all States/Union Territories. The Amendment Order has gained effect immediately.

  1. Exporters and importers, being refiners, millers, extractors, wholesalers or retailers or dealers, having Importer-Exporter Code Number issued by the Director General of Foreign Trade upon being able to explain that their stocks or part of it are meant for exports or sourced from imports will however, be exempted from the prescribed stock limits;

 

  1. Edible Oils and Edible Oilseeds stock must be regularly declared and updated on the portal of the Department of Food & Public Distribution (https://evegoils.nic.in/eosp/login).

 

In case, any legal entity holds stocks higher than the prescribed limit, such entity is required to make declaration of such on the portal of Department of Food & Public Distribution (https://evegoils.nic.in/eosp/login) and bring stocks down to the prescribed limit by 29th April, 2022.
